DraftKings Sleepers Week 3 (2020)
Last week’s list kicked ass, we all saw. (Except Nyheim Hines, we actually didn’t see much of him) But it’s time to move on now. It’s time to wade in the waters of the absurd and grab a dude or two that nobody else is going to play but is still going to get their number. I should remind you that playing the guys on this list takes balls. Big balls, but with big balls comes big rewards. Or big losses. Whatever you do, do not play all of these guys in one lineup rather sprinkle them into your already awesome lineups as a way to differentiate yourself from the others. Without further adieu, here is this week’s list.
Kirk Cousins- $5500 Draftkings
It might seem a little crazy to play Kirk this week after the nonsense he pulled last week, but that is literally a great reason to play him. He was awful. Garbage even. He only completed 11 more passes than I did. But that was last week and as I said before, that’s over now. We’re on to Tennessee. With Kirk being priced to move at $5500, he could hit value with a 330 yard – 3 TD type of performance. That’s not that crazy when you think of the fact that only 11 teams have given up more passing yards to opposing QBs than the Titans. Caousins had three 300+ passing yards & 3+ TD games last season so he has it in him. The best part is, all you have to do is stack him with Adam Thielen and move on with your life because if Cousins has a big day, Thielen will get at least a third of the targets as evidenced by his 33.3% target share which is 3rd most in the NFL. It might be time to get slick and throw a couple Cousins-Thielen GPP lineups together.
Joshua Kelley- $5000 Draftkings
I kind of lied when I said that this is a list of guys that nobody is going to play because everybody is going to play this guy. All you need is one functioning eye and a partially operational brain to know that Kelley is going to go off this week. Only seven teams have given up more rushing yards to opposing RBs than the Panthers and no team has given up more rushing TDs to enemy backs. He already has been given three carries from inside the 5 this season and unlike those, he will be able to punch one in against this team. I am conservatively giving him 20+ carry, 100+ rushing yard and 2+TD upside this week. You literally have to play him unless you just like losing your money.
KJ Hamler- $3000 DraftKings
The first thing most people think when they see the Broncos play for the first time is, “who the fuck is number 13?” He literally looks like he got shot out of a cannon every time he touches the ball. With no Courtland Sutton, Hamler figures to get on the field even more than the 68% of the snaps he played last week. That can only mean good things in a game where his team figures to be trailing most of the second half if not more. I don’t expect him to set any records but if gets anywhere near the seven targets he got last week, he has the opportunity to crush value if he can break one. You are only going to use him if you are looking to squeeze in and extra stud but if you are, he is a fantastic target that might go unnoticed by the masses.
Jordan Akins- $3400 Draftkings
Not sure why DK priced this guy so low, but I’m not questioning that. They are giving us a great play at a great price, I’ll take it. First off, Pittsburgh’s offense has been humming in the first two weeks so it’s not crazy to think the Texans will be chasing points in this game. If that’s the case, Devin Bush can’t cover Akins. You can look that up. If Akins sees Terrell Edmunds, even better since he has given up 130+ yards and a TD in coverage in only two games. Honestly, that’s terrible and Noah Fant could have torched this defense last week but he was a victim of poor QB play. He still caught a TD and was able to salvage a decent line because of it. That won’t be the case this week and our boy Akins is $1000 cheaper than Fant was last year. Best of luck if you fade Akins on Sunday, you will need it.
